On occasion, two or more executives in an organization could benefit from coaching at the same time. Here are a few examples of real cases:
- An executive was appointed CEO from outside of an organization and he was interested in insuring continuity of the existing team. The coaching engagement involved the new CEO and all four of his direct reports.
- A COO being groomed to be CEO and two key executives reporting to him who themselves needed enhanced managerial competences.
- A small organization which was very successful in building a culture that was highly productive had two key senior executives who were peers and could each benefit from enhanced managerial competences to support the existing culture.
- A mortgage organization that grew exceptionally fast when interest rates were very low with revenue increases of tenfold each year for several years. Executives used to managing three or four people were now managing 30 to 50 people with some in remote locations. The coaching was intended to increase the managerial effectiveness of an array of executives.
